Termite and flying ants look very similar, but pest control solutions for these two pests are very different. How can you tell which insect you’re dealing with?
- All four termite wings are the same size, but flying ants have four wings that are not uniform in size or shape.
- Termites’ have smaller bodies than flying ants. A termite’s wings are twice as long as their body, but ant wings are smaller and more proportional to their bodies.
- Termites have straight antennae, ants have elbowed (or bent) antennae.
- Termites appear to be one size all the way through—ants have a segmented body with a thin waist.
